The days of full term

Mamma and I haven't been very good about writing.  The last 2 months have been some of the busiest Mamma can remember...she is still working, last week uncle Josh surprised us by coming into town for a week, Mamma photographed a wedding and 3 family sessions in the last month, and we have been doing a lot of singing and volunteering at church.  On top of that, we have been trying to buy the house still...we don't have it yet but hopefully it should be ours this week! We are so excited for our new home.

Meanwhile at home, Mamma and Daddy are packing boxes, picking paint and carpet, washing my clothes and blankets, rehearsing for being in labor, packing our bag for the hospital, and planning the fastest move into a new house EVER.  Mamma has organized the things I'll need my first few days of life into numbered boxes so Daddy can find them if I'm born before we move.  Our house looks a little scary right now but Daddy says we are going to win the race!

This week I am 38 weeks old--full term! I'm about the size of a small pumpkin or watermelon (about 21 inches long and between 6 and 7 lbs).  Mamma says she is proud of me for staying inside until my lungs and my eyes are really well developed.  I'm losing my body hair and cheesy coating this week, getting ready to show off my new skin to the world! My legs are getting stronger every day, and sometimes I can move Daddy's head now if he is laying on top of me.  Mamma says her favorite thing about the last few weeks has been watching me get the hiccups.  I get them at least once a day, and I can't get them to go away.  I hiccup, then I roll or kick to try to get away from them.  Mamma's tummy is very small though so it's hard to escape.  It makes Mamma giggle to feel them chasing me.  I still love to listen to music.  I love when Daddy lays on Mamma's belly and talks to me.  I love when Mamma lays down at night cause it's the best time to dance and practice my kicks.

One of the best parts about the last month has been the parties that people have thrown for me.  Aunt Cici made a great party for me and Mamma in Illinois when we traveled home to take pictures for Heather's wedding.  It was a party all about adventure and whales.  People made me banner flags with advice and ideas about adventure, and all the mammas there gave my Mamma lots of advice and gifts and love.  I got to see my cousins (and cousin Lita even took her first steps while I was there!) and my Aunts and Nanna and Grandma Beth.  It was a wonderful day.

When we came back to California we got thrown another party by friends at church.  It was a perfect day full of cupcakes and love and beautiful artwork that one of Mammas friends made for my nursery.  I got SO many presents, and everyone is so excited to meet me.

You can see the photos taken by my photographer friend (who also threw the shower) here  http://ivylanephotography.pixieset.com/morgansshower/

Mamma is still feeling pretty good these days, she just gets tired fast and we have to rest and eat and drink really often.  She has still been able to help a lot with painting, and even some moving (light stuff only!).  This week uncle Jake and aunt Maddie finally got their house too so we helped them move.  It's like everything is happening at once!

Mamma says she isn't annoyed or tired of being pregnant yet, but she does feel like I'm almost here already.  She says she and Daddy can tell so much about me through her belly, and she can't wait to see what the rest of me is like.  It won't be long now!
