the days of being BOY

The whole world knows now, because the doctor made it very clear.  Mama was surprised, and Daddy wasn't but he was excited.  They both say they are happy because now it feels like they know me better.  Mama says she is falling in love all over again.

Mama sent Nana and Grandma an outfit and some little boy shoes and a name tag from me for Mothers Day to tell them that I was a boy!  They were both pretty excited about the news.  Nana thinks that Lita is going to be a very confident princess around with all those boys to manage, but I'm so glad I get to play with the other boys that are my cousins!  All of Mama and Daddy's brothers and sisters got to guess about what I would be and people seemed to think I would be a girl most likely, but they were surprised!

Now that they know more about me, Mama has been doing a lot of looking at pictures and cute clothes and getting ideas for the nursery.  She keeps pinning ideas about airplanes and adventure maps and bible verses and little monsters and clouds and elephants and grays and blues and greens.  Mama and Daddy are trying to buy a house too, and each room they talk about they also talk about me and where I will play and where my toys will go and if there is anything that can hurt me there.

People keep telling Mama and Daddy all about the things that little boys do.  Some of the Mamas of little girls are asking if I want to marry their babies, and some of the Mamas of little boys are starting to talk to me like I'm already a buddy to their boys.  I don't know what getting married is, but I think being a buddy sounds like more fun.  Mama and Daddy are watching people too, looking to see what they do when their baby cries or their toddler doesn't obey or their big kid is whining.  It seems like a lot to learn about how to grow me up the right way, but they say we will start small and we will start every day together and we will pray God helps us.

Mama feels like her clothes are finally getting too small, so today we walked EVERYWHERE in the mall to try to find some pants that fit...and we did! If you look closely now and Mama is wearing the right clothes you can *barely* see me from the outside.

I'm 17 weeks old today, and I'm the size of a pomegranate (5 inches long and about 4 oz).  I am working on sucking and swallowing motions and my heart is starting to beat more regularly.  Mama is feeling me move every now and then, but its still hard for her to be sure what is me and what is gas.
Mama has had some scary dreams about me coming into the world this week, so she was glad when someone shared this video with her...I am learning a lot about how I will come out and I don't think it will be very scary.  The stork sounds very nice.
